Class 7A All-State Tournament Team

Class 7A completed its state tournament last week with Miami Christopher Columbus hoisting the championship trophy for the fourth straight year.  Here are our picks for the All-Tournament Team.

Truth be told, the Columbus starting five deserves all five spots.  The team dominated like no other in recent memory.  Cameron Boozer, a 6’9 senior and a Duke signee, seemingly scored at will. Cayden Boozer. A 6’4 senior and Duke signee as well, orchestrated the games on both ends of the floor.  Juniors Caleb Gaskins (6’8), Jaxon Richardson (6’6) and Cello Jackson (6’3) proved beyond all doubt that they are worthy of being ranking in the top fifty nationally for the Class of 2026.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at players from the other teams in Class 7A in Lakeland.

T.J. Drain, Windermere:  The 6’8 senior and Liberty signee pretty much had his way inside in the semi-finals.  He scored 17 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and had 3 blocked shots.  In the final versus Columbus, he was one of two players to lead the starters in scoring with 7 points to go along with 4 rebounds.

Sean Owens, Windermere: The 6’3 senior tallied 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the semis.  In the title game, he was the other starter to score 7 points.

Jorden Pittman, Sanford Seminole: The 6’0 senior was the only player in either game vs. Columbus to have any type of scoring success.  He dropped in 19 points.

John Lackaff, Sarasota: The 6’2 sophomore tied for the team lead in scoring with 12 points in the semi-finals vs. Windermere.

David Young, Sarasota: A 6’6 junior, Young scored 12 points in the semi-finals for the Sailors.
