2022 Class 5A All-State Tournament Team

Source Hoops’ Social Media Director and Living Legend Al Arnold was able to take in the majority of last week’s state tournament in Lakeland.  He shares his thoughts on the various standouts of the event with his All-State Tournament Teams in each classification.

CLASS 5A FIRST TEAM

MOP: Hykeem Williams, Fort Lauderdale Stranahan: Williams had 11 points and 15 rebounds in the Mighty Dragons’ one point semi-final win.  He then scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the championship game.

MVP: Houston Culpepper, Fort Lauderdale Stranahan: Culpepper had double-figures in both games, but his putback just before the horn in the semi-final propelled Stranahan to the title game.

Jalen Cole, Orlando Jones: Coles led Jones with 25 points in their OT loss to St. Pete in the semi-finals.

Marquis Curry, St. Petersburg: Curry led the Green Devils with 21 points and handed out 4 assists in the semis.  He contributed 8 points in the title game.

Ozell Purifoy, Pensacola Pine Forest: Purifoy led Pine Forest in scoring in the semi-finals with 17 points and also grabbed 9 rebounds.

Class 5A Second Team

Sam Duckworth, St. Petersburg

Dylan Kramer, St. Petersburg

Telario Pringle, Orlando Jones

Keishun Robinson, Orlando Jones
