Western High and Oakland Park Northeast will open the boys BCAA Big 8 tournament at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Lauderdale High School.
Game 2 of the quarterfinals Wednesday pits Fort Lauderdale Dillard against Fort Lauderdale High.
On Thursday it will be Fort Lauderdale Stranahan vs. Miramar at 6:30 and Pines Charter vs. Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson at 8.
The semifinals are scheduled for Friday with the championship game set for Saturday night.
Pines Charter and Dillard rank in the top 10 in the latest FHSAA state rankings out Tuesday.
Dave Roca‘s Jaguars (18-1) — led by senior guards Osei Price and Nova Southeastern commit Dallas Graziani — is ranked No. 1 in 5A and No. 6 overall in the state.
Darryl Burrows‘ Panthers (16-6), headlined by seniors Jalen Haynes, Chandler Mack and Ivan Reynolds, are ranked No. 2 in 6A and is No. 7 overall by the FHSAA.
Northeast (17-5) has a loaded young squad and is ranked No. 2 in 5A and is No. 12 overall. Miramar (17-5) is ranked 4th in 7A and is No. 19 in the state.
Pompano Beach Blanche Ely defeated Dillard in last year’s boys BCAA championship game.
Ely defeated St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday night for the girls BCAA Big 8 crown.
