2026 Miami Summer Hoops Festival: Class of 2027 Standouts – Rpt I

This past weekend Source Hoops held its annual Miami Summer Hoops Festival, this year on the campus of North Broward Prep in Coconut Creek.  An outstanding collection of talented teams and players from a variety of age groups was on display each game.  Over the course of this week, we will highlight just some of the many players that caught our attention.

K’nard Callendar, MBJ Elite: A 6’9 reclassed rising senior at OTE in Atlanta, Callendar was spectacular in a Sunday afternoon contest.  He opened the contest with a resounding lob dunk and kept going from there.  Callendar has all the tools to be a special player at the next level and beyond: size, athleticism, skills, hoops IQ, etc.  His perimeter shot may be a bit of a question mark at this time but that will come in time.  It is no wonder that Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech have offered.  Callendar should be a top fifty prospect nationally in the 2027 Class.

Miguel Orbe, SOH Elite: A 6’3 rising senior who will be playing at Hialeah Mater Lakes in the fall, Orbe is a versatile scorer.  He has deep range on his perimeter shot, creates and makes shots from mid-range off the dribble, and scores well at the rim.  Orbe is an excellent free throw shooter that converts many “and one” opportunities over the course of a contest.  While a bit on the thin side, he doesn’t shy away from physical play at either end of the court.

Samfree Sarante, Miami Triple Threat: The 6’4 rising senior out of Miami Palmetto rained down catch-and-shoot threes all weekend long.  Sarante is an alert passer that always keeps the ball moving and notched several assists, making the game easier for teammates.  He can play either guard spot and rebounds well for his position.  Sarante takes care of the ball, makes good shot vs.  pass decisions and is an active and alert defender.

Neo Flores, Showtime Ballers: A 6’0 rising senior from Tampa Catholic, Flores is a certified scorer.  A solid ball-handler, he is crafty in creating space either to get his perimeter shot off or get to and score at the basket.  Flores plays fast but is rarely out of control.  Physically and mentally tough, he relishes taking on a challenge at either end of the court.  While blessed with a scorer’s mentality and skills, Flores willingly shares the ball and keeps teammates involved.

Ronald Germaille, Team Breakdown: A 6’10 rising senior at Miramar, Germaille is starting to show the promise that has been expected from him since his freshman season.  With his strong frame and high-level athleticism, he is a scaled down version of Marcis Ponder, now a freshman at FSU.  Germaille owns his rebounding area at both ends, runs the floor swiftly, protects the rim, and is a lob threat at all times.  There is still some work to do when it comes to scoring in traffic but his upside is high and his best basketball is ahead of him.

Quincy Douby, BBD: A 6’4 rising senior at Miami Riviera Prep, Douby is a well-rounded scorer that spent much of the weekend running the point for BBD (Basketball By Design).  He made good decisions and was quick to get the ball to teammates in open scoring position.  When Douby did look to score, his three-level scoring prowess was quickly evident.  He has a smooth and reliable shooting stroke from the perimeter, uses quick changes of pace/direction to attack the basket, and his mid-range game is tough to stop.  Douby is a versatile defender thanks to his length and foot speed.

L.J.Stocks, Palm Beach Sharks: A 6’2 rising senior at Palm Beach Prep, Stocks is a lefty that proved to be solid as both a scorer and distributor.  He gets to the rim with a plan, is a good decision maker and knocks down shots on both sides of the arc.  Stocks scored well at the basket through contact in a crowd.  Defensively he is alert and disruptive in the passing lanes.

Jacarri Mullen, Team Work: A 6’3 rising senior at Fort Lauderdale Stranahan, Mullen is an athletic guard that thrives on slashing to the basket and scoring at the rim.  He will make spot-up threes if given too much room.  Mullen is a good offensive rebounder, finishes well on the break, and moves his feet quickly on defense.  He proved to be quick to loose balls and got multiple tips and deflections in the games we watched.

Jayson Negron, Team Breakdown: A 6’4 rising senior at Miramar, Negron was one of the best perimeter shooters of the weekend.  He is always shot-ready, has a quick release, and range well past the collegiate arc.  Negron is a solid athlete with the ability to put the ball on the floor to score should the defense be overly aggressive in trying to take away his shot.  He works hard on defense, rebounds well for his size, and is quick to start the break once his secures the basketball.

Anthony Wolcott, BBD: A 6’6 rising senior heading to Miami Riviera Prep, Wolcott is a long and athletic wing.  He has good scoring tools and vastly improved ball-handling and passing skills.  Wolcott knocks down three-pointers well off the catch, hits mid-range pull-ups off the dribble, and finishes with touch and body control at the basket.  He doesn’t shy away from contact at either end of the court.  He has the size, athleticism and skills to play and defend multiple positions.

Aaron Horton, Beach Boyz: A 6’4 2026 grad from Riviera Beach Suncoast, Horton put up 30+ in a game in which we saw only the second half.  He routinely made shots from all three levels.  Horton finished well in a crowd at the basket and was a productive scorer on either side of the arc.  He put great pressure on the ball on the defensive end, forcing some turnovers that quickly became points at the other end.

Jayden Young, Florida Fire Elite: A 6’1 rising senior from Palm Beach Gardens, Young is very quick with the ball.  He excels at getting to the basket and either scoring or getting to the free throw line and many times both.  Young pushes the pace, collapsing the defense as he attacks the basket in both transition or in the half-court.  He rebounds well for his size, especially at the offensive end, and covers a lot of ground quickly on defense.
