2025 SPRING/SUMMER AWARDS – STOCK RISERS

This category is annually the most challenging.  This year was no different as these players, above all others, made the most of their opportunities, resulting in a significant increase in their recruiting profile.

17U: Dhani Miller, MBJ Elite: A 6’2 guard from Montverde, Miller switched over the MBJ Elite early in the spring but his production took a moon-shot trajectory in July.  Over the course of nine games on the Adidas Three Stripes Select Basketball circuit, Miller averaged just short of 24 ppg with blistering shooting percentage splits of 61% overall, 51% from behind the arc, and near 80% from the foul line.  He was also responsible for four rebounds, three assists and just over a steal per contest.  Miller plays with great pace and understanding of the game.  He will push the pace when the opportunity presents itself and slow the game down and direct traffic when necessary.  Miller is a solid defender both on and off the ball as he does a good job of staying in front of the dribbler, is disruptive in the passing lanes, and alert to take charges.

16U: Carson Crawford, Florida Rebels: The 6’6 forward out of Fleming Island was a key cog in leading the Florida Rebels to the EYBL 16U Peach Jam finals.  For the EYBL season (19 games), Crawford put up a double-double, averaging 15.5 points and 10.1 rebounds a contest.  He was efficient from the floor, shooting 57% overall and 40% from behind the arc on judicious 12-30 shooting.  We were fortunate enough to see Crawford play with both the Rebels and his high school team at the FABC Team Camp.  With the Rebels, we noted his solid skill set, high basketball IQ, and the confidence to make plays in high-level situations. Crawford was also quite impressive in his ability to run the floor, finish in transition and get to the basket off the dribble in half-court sets.  At the FABC Team Camp, we noted how Crawford vigorously pursues rebounds in and out of his area at both ends of the floor.  He has versatility as a defender and is quick off the floor to challenge shots.

2028: Ethan Mott, SE Elite: The 6’5 wing heading to Grandview Prep in Boca Raton for his sophomore season seemingly broke out new weapons in his offensive arsenal every time we watched him play.  On the Adidas 15U circuit, Mott averaged a shade over twelve points a contest, shooting just over 50% from the floor overall, 39% from behind the arc and 71% from the charity stripe.  In July, he ran up a level with the 16U squad and his stats improved a bit.  Mott averaged over 13.5 ppg, shooting nearly 65% overall, a similar number from three, and 79% from the foul line.  Watching him play multiple times in person, he displayed above average athletic ability, which he used to grab rebounds in a crowd and finish over the rim when given the opportunity.  Mott got to and scored at the rim, put back a few of his teammates’ misses, and played a much more physical game than we’ve seen in the past.  His shot is pure; Mott can create and make that shot off the catch or the dribble on either side of the arc, and he continues to show evidence of being a solid ball-handler and passer.
