2026 All-SIAA Selections

In conjunction with its state finals, the Sunshine Independent Athletic Association (SIAA) released its All-SIAA selections for its various divisions.  Here are the First and Second Team Selections from the National Division, the SIAA’s top league.

Player of the Year

Beckham Black, Southeastern Prep: The 6’3 junior was the catalyst for the league’s top team.  Considered the top point guard in the Class of 2027, Black made the game easier for his teammates and difficult for the opposition.  His ability to score as well as distribute, control the pace of a game, and be disruptive on the defensive end allow him to impact the game at both ends of the floor.

First Team

C.J. Rosser, Southeastern Prep: The 6’10 junior is considered the top prospect in the Class of 2027.  With his size and shooting ability, Rosser is a difficult matchup.  Rosser can step out and drain shots past the arc with consistency, beat defenders down the floor for scores, and get points in the paint via lobs or putbacks.  His length and athleticism allow him to quickly cover ground on the defensive end and guard the perimeter in ball-screen action.

Martay Barnes, Academy of Central Florida: A 6’2 just-reclassed-up senior, Barnes has been on the national radar since he was in the eighth grade playing at Holy Trinity Episcopal in Melbourne.  Heading to Florida State in the fall, Barnes is a dynamic athlete in the backcourt, explodes to the basket with the ball and continues to improve as a perimeter shooter.  He can be a one-man fast break/press break as he is very fast with the ball and quickly identifies the shortest lane of attack to the basket.  Barnes is a better passer than given credit for and has a lock down mentality on defense.

Ryan Hampton, DME Academy: The 6’7 junior has had some amazing offensive performances this past season.  He is very adept at making tough shots near the basket, is a reliable perimeter shooter, and can create his own shot off the dribble.  A leaper with length, Hampton converts putbacks and lobs above the rim with ease.  Despite a thin build, he doesn’t shy away from contact at either end.  Hampton puts in work on the defensive end, using his physical gifts to disrupt passing lanes and making it difficult for opponents to get into any kind of offensive rhythm.

Nathan Kirk, DME Academy: The 6’1 senior is tough and determined.  He has reliable three-point range on his shot, good dribble-drive moves to break down defenders and attack the basket and makes good shot vs. pass decisions on the move.  Kirk is adept at pushing the pace, getting the ball inside to cutters and into the post when a teammate has a mismatch.  Defensively he is solid, harassing opposing ball-handlers and making it difficult to initiate offense.

Joseph Hartman, The Rock School: A 6’5 senior committed to Michigan, Hartman had a very impressive season in leading The Rock School to the top-seed in the SIAA State Tournament.  Thrust into a point guard role this season, Hartman showed great savvy and basketball IQ in making sure his teammates got good opportunities to score while also being the go-to guy when points were needed.  A reliable scorer from all three levels, Hartman plays a smooth and controlled game without a lot of flash.  He has active feet and hands on defense, anticipates well, and has the size to defend multiple positions.

Deandre Harvey, The Rock School: The 6’5 senior had a stellar final season, showcasing his ability to play multiple positions and be effective at each one.  Harvey has always been an excellent driver and finisher thanks to his size and strength.  This year he proved he could be a reliable perimeter scorer as the reliability of his shot out to the arc greatly increased as did his ability to score off the bounce from mid-range.  Harvey spent some time running the offense due to injury but showed he could take care of the ball and initiate offense.  He rebounds well against bigger opponents and is quick to come up with steals and/or loose balls and convert them into points.

Second Team

Antonio Baymon, West Oaks Academy, 6’2 junior

Felipe Minzer, Academy of Central Florida, 6’6 senior

Symon Ghai, Academy of Central Florida, 7’3 senior (MVP of State Tournament)

Mike Wilson, Victory Rock Prep, 6’3 senior
