SFE Give Thanks Jamboree Results
This weekend we got a chance to watch several good young prospects at the 1st Annual Give Thanks Middle School Jamboree in Coral Springs, FL. This event was presented by the South Florida Elite travel basketball program. Event Directors Lou Vives and Cedric Smith did a great job in organizing the event. While they didn’t have the number of teams expected it was perfect for us because we got a chance to get a good look at those in attendance.
The following middle school teams participated in the Jamboree: Miami Belen Jesuit, Coral Springs Christian Academy, Coral Springs Middle, Forest Glen Middle, Sunrise Middle and Westminster Academy.
We have to mention that Miami Belen Jesuit and Coral Springs Christian both went undefeated on the day. Belen used the inside muscle of Daniel Romeu (8th grade) and poised guard play to outlast their opponents. On the other hand, Coral Springs Christian was led by 7th grader Jeffrey Prophete who at times was absolutely sensational. The Crusaders also sported a frontline of four players 6’3 or better. The frontcourt featured 6’6 Ray Robinson (8th), 6’3 Abule Abadi (7th) and 6’6 twins AJ and Brett Haeffner (7th).
