Early list for Moore
One of the top shooters in Florida regardless of class elevated his overall game in the past year and now is reaping the benefits of his hard work. Dallas Moore a 5-foot-10 guard at St. Petersburg Boca Ciega who is known for “splashing” jumpers from deep has drawn the attention of college coaches in his junior year.
Moore says he is receiving interest from several schools and gave us a long list to match. “The schools that are seriously recruiting me are FAU, JU, USF, UCF, Stanford, North Florida, Appalachian State, College of Charleston, South Alabama, Boston University, FGCU and Mercer,” said the sharp shooting Moore. “I’ve taken unofficial visits to FAU, JU, USF and UCF.
He didn’t provide any leaders at this point but he did say he has developed a very good relationship with the coaching staffs at FAU, FGCU, JU, Appalachian St, UCF and USF.
This summer we watched Moore catch fire from deep with his Florida Rams Black squad but now he is looking to show he is more than a deep threat this high school season. “I have improved my point guard abilities and my ability to drive and penetrate the lane, said Moore.” “He doesn’t have the look of a guy that’s going to hurt you,” said Source Hoops Scouting Director, Cory Rollins. “That’s where he kills you. He has the ability to go on a 12-0 run and the next thing you know it’s a double digit lead.”
Last season “Bogie” was upset in the District 12-class 5A semifinals by St. Petersburg Northeast after entering the district tournament as the top seed. As the opening week of practice continues, Moore feels like he and his teammates need to stay focused, work hard and play as a team to surpass last season’s success.
