Arguably the most athletic player inside of the 2013 class goes by the name Demarcus Croaker. Croaker is an electrifying athlete that, with a single play, can ignite the crowd. We got a chance to see him earlier in the season at Nike’s “The Workout”, and he did not disappoint this high school season.
Demarcus averaged 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists for Jones High School. Jones finished with a record of 19-9 and lost in the Regional Semi-finals to Lake Highland Prep who is currently in the State Final Four.
With plans to play for the Florida Rams this summer, Croaker is extremely excited to compete and win a bunch of games. “This is my last summer and I want to finish it out strong. I want to play my best and earn some more scholarships,” added Croaker. Already having a heated head to head matchup with Rashawn Powell during the regular season Croaker says, “As a basketball player I love to compete, I want to play against guys who are supposedly better than me so I can prove people wrong.” The team that Demarcus would most like to matchup with this summer comes as no surprise, is the team that Rashawn plays for, Florida Assault.
When asked about what he needs to improve the most to take the next step in his development Demarcus Croaker had this to say, “I need to improve my ball handling so that I can slide over and play the point guard position more efficiently.”
Croaker’s recruitment is all over the board holding offers from Florida State, Murray State, UCF, Miami (FL), Michigan, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Also involved in his recruitment is Virginia Tech, Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson, North Carolina, Florida, Middle Tennessee, and Memphis.
